Hall Elementary School

What does Hall PTA do?

Your PTA works to make Hall School a better place for all the students and the staff.  We purchase books given to each student at their birthday or half-birthday, we sponsor grade-level assemblies and field trips that relate to our students’ curriculum, and Fine Arts Week; and we coordinate room parents and provide some of the supplies for seasonal classroom parties.

The PTA also organizes and sponsors Family, Friends & Fun events such as Pumpkin Night, the Holiday Assembly, Bingo Night and Literacy Night, as well as the Cinco de Mayo Ice Cream Social.  These are great, low-cost or free events for the whole family.

In addition, we help fund technology purchases for the classrooms ad other special projects, and, to show the Hall School teachers and staff how much we appreciate what they do, we host Teacher Appreciation Day and deliver special treats from time to time.

Who should join PTA?

As the name implies, both parents and teachers are members of the Hall School PTA.  We also encourage grandparents and other caregivers to become members.

How much does it cost?

The membership fee is $5 and helps support all the activities described here.

How does the PTA raise money?

We have fundraising efforts throughout the entire school year.  Our Fall Fundraiser and Spring Fun Fair are how we raise most of our money. The Market Day program runs 10 months out of the year and the PTA earns 10 percent profit on all products purchased.  Membership dues also are an important part of our fundraising effort.

So where does the money go?

  • The PTA provides grade-level assemblies and field trips that follow the curriculum happening during the year.
  • The PTA provides money to each teacher for classroom supplies.
  • The PTA proudly supports the Family, Friends & Fun Nights, Math Bowl and Fine Arts Week.
  • The PTA contributes funding to Hall School's PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) effort.
  • Room Representatives are recruited by the PTA and room party snacks are provided.
  • Every child receives a book on their birthday or half-birthday.
  • Year-end parties are provided for all grade levels and a special recognition event is planned for all 5th graders as they prepare to move on to middle school.
  • Teacher appreciation events occur during the year to thank the teachers and staff for everything they do for the students of Hall School.
  • The PTA pays for insurance to make sure that everyone is safe during sponsored events.

How does Hall PTA accomplish its goals?

To meet our goal of making Hall School a better place for all the students and the staff, it takes money, and parents and teachers who are able to contribute.  We do need volunteers to serve as Room Parents and Fun Fair helpers, as well as parents who might offer cooking or baking skills for Teacher Appreciation Day.  We also understand that many parents aren’t able to volunteer because of work, caring for other children and other important commitments, but your membership fee still helps fund the programs and supplies provided for our children.  Additional dollars are raised through an annual Fall Fundraiser and Fun Fair in the spring, as well as though ongoing programs including Campbell’s Soup label collection and Market Days.

Why should I join PTA?

Being involved with your child's school - being connected - helps you make the most of your child's time at Hall.  You can meet other parents and learn more about the school.  Or you can simply pay membership dues to show your support if you are unable to volunteer your time.  Either way, you’ll be part of creating a better learning environment for our children.

How can I be part of PTA when I work all day?

There are many opportunities to help our children that can be part of one’s everyday routine.  You can clip the UPC code from Campbell’s soup cans, Goldfish crackers and other products and send them to school with your student(s), or open the Market Day brochure when making your grocery list and order some items through the program, with the school receiving 10 percent of the profits. The Market Day Committee offers after-work pickup hours.

If you’d like to help out during an evening or weekend, you can bake brownies for Teacher Appreciation Day, help with Market Day distribution or run a game at our spring Fun Fair for one hour on one Saturday.  You can make a difference
